The world is full of odd signs. Whether a means of advertising or a message of expression, signs are here to stay. While exploring the small towns and back roads of Southeastern Ontario, many unusual signs pop up, as well as unique displays or oddities. Some are man made, while others are naturally occuring.
In this entry, I will share the silly or unusual things we come across during our days of exploration. Enjoy the photos, hope they make you smile.
WILLIAM STANLEY
The acorn was one I picked up on a walk, placed on the table, and something hatched out of the side of it. The item on the trail appeared to be a finger, but was really a carrot someone had placed there.
What appears to be a brown flower is a large fungus that fell off a fallen tree. The sink display was in someone’s yard in Bridgenorth, I guess the ceramic ducks needed a place to play. The cherry tomato is from my plant, which seems to have a proboscis or nose. And finally, a tomato on a plant in Lang Pioneer Village which appears to be many tomatoes that have grown together into on large one.
Hiking on the TransCanada trail, we came across these signs – Not very useful in the summer, and not sure if they would be appreciated by snowmobilers without any directional arrows or other information. (The map box was totally empty.)
