As you may have previously read, Lang is a very special place close to where I live. As I grew up in the area, I can remember exactly where many of the historic buildings which have been relocated to this living museum once stood. This past Sunday, the village was open for its annual applefest. I was fortunate my daughter-in-law and grandsons also attended, as the boys greatly enjoyed many of the activities for children. Below are a few hightlights. AND, if you would like to read more about the pioneer village and a short story about the area, please search for my blog post, Lang Pioneer Village Museum (August 18).
Enjoy,

One of the demonstrations was of an old threshing machine. The tractor provided the power and the wheat was soon separated and ready to be milled. Luckily, Lang has an operational grist mill on site!
One of the favorite activities for children was peeling an apple using a vintage peeler.
And here are some of the artisans and workers who helped make the day complete. Including the steam driven vehicle, whose whistle was a big hit with the kids!
