The winter of 2025 has proven to be the year of icicle gardens. With weather conditions perfect for creating these sculptures, they have formed a community of their own. Almost every structure in our city is adorned with these beautiful creations of nature, hanging off the buildings. Most icicles form from the eaves, with some of these spectacles reaching the ground. Frigid weather, combined with sunshine, has kept them growing. However, the first forty-degree day weakens the icicle’s base to which it clings, gravity causing it to break from its foundation and come crashing to the ground. Icicles can be dangerous projectiles, capable of causing death if impaled by one falling from a great height.
